The Estates

Prelius is the Roman name of the ancient coastal lake that already at the time of the Etruscans was at the centre of a flourishing settlement linked to fishing, trade and agriculture.

The lake extended from the Argentario promontory to Castiglione della Pescaia, separated from the sea by a narrow sandy tongue where the splendid Grosseto pine forest now grows.

3 kilometres from Castiglione, along the slopes of the hilly amphitheatre that lapped the lake, is the locality Prile where our vineyards are grown and from which we obtain the wines of Prelius-Castelprile.
